Letter - Stratton is fiscally responsible

James “Jim” Stratton, candidate for county commissioner in District 2, is a fiscally responsible, caring member of our community.

To the editor:

James “Jim” Stratton, candidate for county commissioner in District 2, is a fiscally responsible, caring member of our community. He is concerned about being accountable to those he serves and will also be a listening ear to those who have concerns, ideas, and opportunities to grow Douglas County for the future.

Jim is a person who genuinely cares for others. Jim cares for the elderly and serves as a volunteer bus driver on Sunday mornings to help shut-ins to attend worship. Jim cares about our community. He has volunteered in many civic organizations, including Sertoma and the Viking Sportsman’s Club, in which he is currently the treasurer.

Jim cares about our youth. He has long been a mentor in the District 206 Mentor Program. For most of his adult life, Jim has been involved in Boy Scouts as a parent, a leader, and is presently employed as the senior district executive in the Boy Scouts of America. Throughout his life he has touched the lives of countless youth in profound ways.

James Stratton cares about our youth, our community, and he cares about you.

The primary election in District 2 is important this year. Please remember to vote on Tuesday, August 14.
