Alex Swim Club: Opdahl advances to Central Zone meet
Six Alexandria Swim Club members competed at state.
Alexandria Swim Club member Bridget Opdahl advanced to the Central Zone swim competition in Lawrence, Kansas last weekend, being ranked No. 8 in the 50 free and No. 9 in the 100 free.
Opdahl, who swims for the Minnewaska/Morris Gators during the school year, also competed in the 200 IM.
Opdahl and several other ASC swimmers competed at the Minnesota State Long Course Championships in Eden Prairie July 28-29, coming away with some excellent finishes.
“I am very proud of how our athletes handled such a big meet,” said coach Dave Molesworth. “This year’s state meet was the largest meet ever hosted by Minnesota Swimming. I am very excited about where our club is going and how well the group is doing.”
Carter Holm, swimming in the boys’ 8-under division, had a top-10 finish as he swam the 100 freestyle to a 1:30.24 ninth place.
