• Neighborhood National Bank (NNB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Haugen as senior vice president of lending.

Haugen joins NNB with more than 30 years of experience in banking and has been a business banker in the community for the last 16 years.

Kevin and his wife, Kathy, reside in Alexandria and have three grown children. His past involvement in the Alexandria community includes the Lakes Area Chamber, Kiwanis Club, Alexandria Area Economic Development Commission and the Alexandria Cardinal Athletic Foundation.

• The Redbird Soccer Club recently sent 148 athletes among nine teams to the Walmart All American Soccer Cup in Blaine. The U14 boys and the U19 girls walked away with the championship in their age division and all other teams competed well against some successful soccer clubs from the Twin Cities area.

There was more going on than soccer. The environment was another winner. The Redbirds thanked the Alexandria Walmart, which supported the club with a “go-green” attitude. Each of the soccer teams collected plastic bags to have recycled and in exchange Walmart supported the club with a $1,800 donation.

• Edina Realty, the Midwest’s largest residential real estate firm, recently announced that Kari Wilde has joined its Alexandria office. She currently resides near Carlos.

• Jodi Zwiers, director of residential services at Grand Arbor by Knute Nelson in Alexandria, was selected to participate in the 2012-13 Aging Services of Minnesota Leadership Academy. Zwiers is one of 25 leaders across the state selected to participate in this competitive leadership development program.
