Letter - Anderson deserves to finish his term

I’d like to point out to the folks who vote in District 4 that Paul Anderson has been your county commissioner for the past 14 years and would have served 16 years were it not for redistricting.

To the editor:

I’d like to point out to the folks who vote in District 4 that Paul Anderson has been your county commissioner for the past 14 years and would have served 16 years were it not for redistricting.

Anderson is not one to blow his own horn. I believe the citizens should be aware of what he has done over the years:

Anderson has served on the Douglas County Hospital Board for 14 years, two as chairman; Area Agency for Aging for 14 years, two as chairman; five years on the AMC Board; five years as District 4 chairman; Planning and Zoning Committee for six years; Budget Committee for 14 years; HRA Board of Commissioners for 16 years; clerk/treasurer of Alexandria Township for 10 years; Central Minnesota Regional Radio Board (emergency board); presently vice chair of the 19-member county Joint Powers; West Central Initiative Board.

I have served on several joint power boards with Anderson. He has served with distinction. He approaches local government from the conservative side and is very aware that county government is supported for the most part by your real estate taxes.

I believe Anderson deserves to finish the two years of his term. I hope you agree.

Jerry M. Deal,

Traverse County commissioner

Wheaton, MN
