Resorters Golf Tournament: Field is strong for Executive Men's Division

The Men’s Executive Division is set up with a lot of firepower again this year as six players qualified for the championship flight with a score of 75 or lower.

Tim Peterson of Lino Lakes is back this summer as the defending champion. He will have to battle with the previous two champions as Jon and Stefan Freeman return to the field. Jon, the 2010 victor from Chanhassen, shot a 70 in Monday’s qualifying round. Stefan, the 2009 champion from St. Cloud, was right behind him with a 72.

Fourteen others shot in the 70s as golfers took advantage of some ideal weather conditions. Daryl Schomer, St. Cloud, shot a 74, while Al Hagen of Harrisburg, South Dakota, Justin Cattoor of Rosemount and Osakis boys’ and girls’ golf coach Steve Tax of Sartell all carded 75s. The final cut was an 84 shot by Plymouth’s Tim Kelly.

The Executive Division will kick off today at noon on the 10th tee with Peterson taking on Kelly and Jeff Johnson of Chaska taking on Alexandria’s A.J. Kluver.
