Motorists on Highway 29 between Alexandria and Glenwood will experience delays when a road resurfacing project and detour begin on August 13.
Traffic will detour on Douglas County Road 4, Highway 114 and Highway 55 through mid-September while crews replace culverts, construct turn lanes and repair the Canadian Pacific railroad crossing north of Glenwood.
Following the detour, crews will resurface the roadway between Douglas County Road 28 and Highway 55, which will require land closures with a pilot car operation.
All work is scheduled to be completed in early October, weather permitting. The project will enhance safety and improve mobility on the Highway 29 corridor.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
