First Friday concert to feature Matt Mayfield

Musician Matt Mayfield will bring a variety of musical talents when he performs at the Evansville Art Center for the First Friday Concert on August 3 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. His repertoire includes anything from Beatles music to jazz.

Mayfield was a teacher of music theory and technology to K-12 students and adults for 10 years until he quit in 2011 to make a living playing music.

While earning his Bachelor of Arts in music education from Concordia College in Moorhead, Mayfield learned to play a number of band and orchestra instruments. He currently plays guitar and keyboards in a variety of bands in the Twin Cities area.

Mayfield and his wife, Rachel, live in St. Paul's Mac/Groveland neighborhood.
