Habitat for Humanity of Douglas County (HFHDC) recently elected three new board members: Chad Coauette, Julie Critz and Mark Deterding. The board also elected officers: Jan Finazzo, president; Irene Vagle, vice president; Chris Worley, treasurer; Marie Anderson, secretary.

Fred Bursch, president of Bursch Travel, installed the new directors and officers at their organizational meeting held on July 17. Other board members include Tim Cullen, Steve Hellermann, Janna Lindoo, Joyce Moe and Lynndene Way.

The board of directors is the governing body and sets policy for the local affiliate, including development, building site selection, partner family selection and support, volunteer coordination and more.

As HFHDC enters its 15th year, it remains focused on expanding the capacity to serve families in need and strengthening the communities it serves, said Finazzo.

“We welcome the new board members to our team and appreciate their dedication and passion for our mission,” said Lori Anderson, executive director.

Habitat for Humanity of Douglas County has been an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International since 1997 and has built 31 homes for sale to partner families throughout Douglas County, providing housing for 125 people.

The affiliate is currently recruiting families for immediate homeownership and for the 2013 build season.
