More than 100 youth attend 4-H camp

One hundred and one youth from 12 counties attended the annual 4-H camp held at the University of Minnesota Morris, June 19-21. This was an increase of 15 campers from the previous year. The camp's theme was "Road Trip to 4-H Camp," featuring four different cultures.

One hundred and one youth from 12 counties attended the annual 4-H camp held at the University of Minnesota Morris, June 19-21. This was an increase of 15 campers from the previous year. The camp's theme was "Road Trip to 4-H Camp," featuring four different cultures.

"4-H is a great environment for youth to grow, learn about themselves and make many new friends," said extension educator Brian McNeill. "Camp is a safe place where youth learn some independence in a supportive way."

The 4-H camp was three days and two nights for 3-6 graders. Nineteen youth in grades 7-12 were trained and had various leadership roles. This year's co-directors were Jade Kutzke from Meeker County and Lauren Engebretson from Douglas County.

4-H is open to anyone in kindergarten through one year past high school.
