Letter - I'll connect district to GMC schools
I will be running for the position held by Jim Hafdal. As a member of our board, I will work to increase the links between our schools and our community.
To the editor:
The race to elect three members to our Board of Education is about to begin.
I will be running for the position held by Jim Hafdal. As a member of our board, I will work to increase the links between our schools and our community. Currently, there is no representation on the board from our schools outside the Alexandria city limits. As a parent of a Carlos student, I will connect our “GMC” schools. Also, I will work to increase communication between our board and the community by connecting with our PAC leaders and attending school events across the district.
I will bring insight to the board in the area of early childhood education. I have participated in our district’s early education programing with my children for the past seven years. I have also served on the Early Childhood Parent Advisory Board for the last three years, most recently as the president.
There are many issues facing our schools today, including continuing budget constraints, and exponential growth in knowledge and bullying. I’m ready to tackle these issues to ensure the continued success of our schools.
Look for me at the county fair. I look forward to meeting with you.
