Small-town fun livened up the weekend in Douglas County with community celebrations providing plenty of fun and relief from the heat.

Miltona celebrated its 42nd annual Tornado Days with a variety of activities including fire department water fights that cooled off the young children who came to watch in their swimsuits.

Millerville, meanwhile, hosted its annual Butter Days to celebrate the success of the Millerville Co-op Creamery Association. A butter carving contest produced some creative entries, including a version of waffles and butter.
