Having a well-behaved dog can make the experience of having a pet more enjoyable. The Lakes Area Humane Society will host a dog obedience class starting on Tuesday, July 24. It will run one night per week for five weeks and will cover the basic obedience commands of heel, sit, stay, come and so much more.

The cost is $60, and the profits will be applied toward the operating expense of the animal shelter. This class is appropriate for dogs of all ages and for dog owners no matter what level of experience they may have.

The instructor is Randy Buker. He has taught this class for 10 years and has a total of more than 30 years of professional dog training experience. During those years, he’s either trained or helped train approximately 1,400 dogs. He has developed a common sense approach to training based on how dogs learn and communicate. Beyond the basic commands, Buker will teach how to understand a dog’s behavior.

For more information or to register, call the Lakes Area Humane Society at (320) 759-2260.
