Local artists are part of Art of the Lakes Studio Tour
This year's Art of the Lakes Studio Tour will feature the work of 35 artists in 26 different studios around the region, including several in Douglas County.
This year's Art of the Lakes Studio Tour will feature the work of 35 artists in 26 different studios around the region, including several in Douglas County.
The tour is Friday and Saturday, July 20 and 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some locations will also be open on Sunday, July 22 from noon to 5 p.m.
Visit with artists, view artworks in progress, watch demonstrations, enjoy refreshments and ask questions. Artists will also have their works for sale during the tour.

Following are the local artists taking part:
The Studio at Ruby Lake
12254 400th Avenue, Evansville
Donna Westerling will display her watercolors, including originals, giclee prints, notecards and her new work called "Painted Threads" using watercolor and fibers on silk and satin.
Duane Dahlvang and Peggy Dahlvang will feature their gourd art.
Kron School Studio
18541 Co. Rd. 1 NW, Evansville
Calvin deRuyter will display unique watercolors painted directly from the tube, with an emphasis on strong color relationships. Also on display will be original nude drawings in pencil, pastel and Caran d'Ache.
Emmy White will share her works. She paints with bright colors, using imagination and silliness.
Henning Studio
22399 Oak Hill Road, Evansville
Stephen Henning will feature his oil pastels and original paintings on canvas.
Conard Studio
6434 Lake Ida Way NW, Alexandria
Millie Conard will share paintings of the local area in various mediums - oils, watercolors, woodcuts, pastels and colored pencil.
Smith Studio
811 Scenic Heights Rd. NE, Alexandria
Julie Smith uses a variety of mediums to express her ideas and feelings, inspired by nature. See a variety of paintings, pastels, ceramic art collages and textural pottery.
Seykora Studio
4365 Co. Rd. 82 NW, Alexandria
Bill and Merodie Seykora are a husband and wife team. Bill creates hand-turned wood bowls, bottle stoppers, cheese knives and more, while Merodie creates wheel thrown and hand built functional pottery. Demonstrations available.
Young Studio
1550 Melvina Ln. SW, Alexandria
June Young creates original acrylic and oil paintings, watercolors and collages.
Red Basket Antiques
6595 Co. Rd. 4W SW, Alexandria
Naomi "Noni" Bjorklund will feature an eclectic collection of original work, including watercolor paintings, Ukrainian eggs, glass enamel on copper jewelry and hand knit items.
