Sinclair Lewis Days starts today in Sauk Centre
The 42nd Annual Sinclair Lewis Days celebration starts today in Sauk Centre with parades, fireworks, pageants, tournaments, turtle races, craft fair and family fun.
The 42nd Annual Sinclair Lewis Days celebration starts today in Sauk Centre with parades, fireworks, pageants, tournaments, turtle races, craft fair and family fun.
Beginning with the Miss Sauk Centre candidate event on Sunday, July 15 and the treasure hunt beginning Monday. Wednesday is the “History Mystery” from 1 to 4 p.m. followed by the Kiddie and Pet Parade at 6:30 in Sinclair Lewis Park and the Kids Concert in the Park at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday is the Pie and Ice Cream Social at the Senior Center followed by the Miss Sauk Centre Pageant at 7:30 in the Auditorium. Friday visit the Sinclair Lewis Museum and Free Interpretive Center and the Little Red Schoolhouse. Music in the Park at 8 p.m. followed by fireworks at Dusk.
Saturday is all about fun with Crazy Days, Craft Fair, Family Fun Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sinclair Lewis Park. At 7 p.m. is the Sinclair Lewis Days Parade featuring Kracker Jack Drum Line.
New this year is the Twin Cities River Rats Water Ski Show on Sunday July 22 and the Classic Car Show at 1pm on Big Sauk Lake at Sinclair Lewis Park. You won’t want to miss this next week in Sauk Centre.
…and that’s not all – the following week July 25-29 is the Stearns County Fair held at the Sauk Centre Fairgrounds – Midway rides, food, animals, demo derby, grandstand music and more.
Thursday, July 26 – Senior Days - is Gig Noonan variety entertainment at 7:30 and the Demolition Derby.
Friday, July 27 – Children’s Day – features a Draft Horse and Antique Tractor parade at 7pm along with “Stimulus Package” at 7pm at the Herald Stage and Demo Derby at 7:30 at the Grandstand.
Saturday, July 28 – Amateur Talent Contest, Gary Tyson-Magic and Hypnosis, Rocket launch, Starlight Country, Fashion Revue, DC & Hawk Blue Grass, Classic Country and Southern Gospel followed by Elvis Tribute by Brad Boyce on the Herald Stage. Draft Horse Show and more!
Sunday, July 29 – Fun For All – Midway rides continue, horse events, Neil Diamond Tribute by Dennis Anderson, Pick-up and Tractor Pulling Contest at 7pm
