UPDATE THURS. 1 P.M.: Head-on crash on Highway 27

A head-on collision occurred Thursday morning east of Alexandria on Highway 27.

    Two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision Thursday morning on Highway 27.

A head-on collision occurred at 10:37 a.m. east of Alexandria near the Nelson turn-off this morning on Highway 27.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene in front of Weston Station where a Ford Taurus driven by Johanna L. Henke, 46, of Glenwood attempted to turn left into the Weston Station parking lot and failed to yield to westbound traffic, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Henke collided with Meghan N. Abrahamson, 17, of Alexandria, who was driving a Jeep Cherokee westbound.

Henke and Abrahamson were both transported to Douglas County Hospital with minor injuries.
