Resorters baseball: East, West baseball playoffs open Saturday
The Resorters East and West baseball playoff match-ups are set with the tournament scheduled to open up on Saturday afternoon.
The Brandon-Evansville Bluedogs earned the top seed in the West after winning the regular season title. They will take on fourth-seeded Ashby on Saturday night in Evansville. First pitch is slated for 7 p.m.
Osakis wrapped up the second seed in the West and will host a game on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks will welcome in Kensington for the right to play the winner of Brandon-Evansville and Ashby.
The top seed from the East is Carlos after the Cougars ended the regular season with a 6-4 win over Sauk Centre. Carlos (14-0) needed three runs in the seventh inning to overcome a 3-1 deficit and two more in the top of the 11th to end the season with a perfect record.
Saturday match-ups in the East Division include Sauk Centre at Clarissa at 2 p.m. Long Prairie will be at Urbank on Saturday, as well.
The Cougars will get a bye in the opening round. They will host the winner of Clarissa and Sauk Centre on Sunday at 4 p.m. in their first game of the East tournament, while second-seeded Miltona (10-4) hosts the winner of Urbank and Long Prairie at 2 p.m.
