Graduates

Sarah Holm, daughter of David and Lynette Holm of Alexandria, graduated from Northwestern College, St. Paul with a Bachelor of Science in elementary education. Holm is a 2008 graduate of Jefferson High School in Alexandria.



The following students graduated from the University of Minnesota, Morris on May 12.

Alexandria: Matt Wilts, Bachelor of Arts (BA), English; Kevin Ptacek, BA, psychology and liberal arts for the human services; Nancy Bittmann, BA, elementary education, high distinction.

Brandon: Thomas Sullivan, BA, biology.

Kensington: Caitlin Smith, BA, English.

Miltona: Crystal Zastrow, BA, biology.



The following students graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth on May 12.

Alexandria: Garrett Beck, Bachelor of Applied Science, psychology; Brandon Brever, Bachelor of Science Civil Engineering, civil engineering; Tyler Erickson, Bachelor of Arts, criminology; Andrew Hornberger, Bachelor of Science, computer science, magna cum laude; Parker Huber, Bachelor of Arts, communication.



The following students recently graduated from St. Cloud State University.

Alexandria: Kandy Ahlers, Bachelor of Science (BS), community psychology; Anne Clark, Master of Arts, English; Joseph Mackedanz, Bachelor of Arts (BA), film studies; Kelly Olson, BS, elementary/K-8 education, summa cum laude; Tarra Traut, BA, criminal justice studies.

Brandon: Danial Wagner, BS, real estate, summa cum laude.

Carlos: Jenna Mattocks, BS, nursing, summa cum laude.

Nelson: Emilie Wardrip, BA, global studies, Bachelor of Elective Studies, summa cum laude.

Osakis: Lindsay Niehoff, Master of Science, counseling psychology: school counseling.

Grant Aaseng received the Doctor of Ministry from Luther Seminary on May 20 at Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. His thesis was titled "The Appropriateness and Effectiveness of Interactive Biblical Preaching." A 10-year resident of Alexandria, Aaseng earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield in 1978 and a Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary in 1983. He is currently a pastor at Shalom Lutheran Church in Alexandria.
