Letter - We have lost a significant partner

No longer will we have local news or local sports publicized the way we have had in the past. I will miss that! We could view local advertising, as well as reporting on special projects within the area. I will miss that!

To the editor:

This week Alexandria and the Central Minnesota area lost a significant partner; a partner that helped make this area unique, as compared to other outstate communities. I am speaking of the closing of KSAX-TV station in Alexandria.

No longer will we have local news or local sports publicized the way we have had in the past. I will miss that! We could view local advertising, as well as reporting on special projects within the area. I will miss that! The young and upcoming news anchors and reporters were always fun to watch as they grew with experience. I will miss those energetic faces!

KSAX-TV has been a part of our community in many ways, including employing a significant number of people. The business community will miss that! Station manager Ed Smith was a past Alexandria Chamber of Commerce president, giving back to the community in many ways. Many of the employees of the station gave back to the community as well, through their own volunteer efforts. We will all miss that!

Yes, we lost a significant area partner this week. But I’m thankful for what we had. Thank you to each of the KSAX-TV team members. Thanks for everything you did for our community and our area. You made us special and we will miss seeing you on air, but hope to continue seeing you involved in our community!
