Scholarships

O'Ryan Bosek, son of James and Julie Bosek of Garfield, received a $500 North Dakota State University (NDSU) Freshman Academic Scholarship. Bosek will enter NDSU in the fall and plans to major in mechanical engineering and minor in mathematics.

Kassandra Kriese, daughter of Shawn and Michelle Thelen of Villard, was awarded a Benedictine Scholarship to the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, for entry in fall 2012. She is planning to major in physical therapy.

Evan Pearson of Alexandria received the Academic Excellence Award in Marketing from the Labovitz School of Business and Economics at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Pearson's area of study is marketing.

John Vinje, son of Todd and Brenda Vinje of Alexandria, received a $4,500 North Dakota State University (NDSU) Freshman Academic Scholarship and a $500 Helgason Engineering Scholarship. Vinje will enter NDSU in the fall and plans to major in civil engineering.

Ben Von Bargen, son of Tracey and Kimberly Von Bargen of Alexandria, received the St. John's University President's Scholarship of $13,500, a renewable four-year value. It is awarded based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, leadership and service. Von Bargen will enter St. John's in the fall and plans to study economics and math.
