Engagement - Strand and Preston

Megan Strand of Alexandria and Erik Preston of Brandon announce their engagement.

Megan is the daughter of John and Darlene Strand of Alexandria. She is a 2007 graduate of Jefferson High School in Alexandria. She graduated in 2011 from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire with a bachelor's degree in social work.

Megan is a rehabilitation counselor at Transitional Resources through the Lutheran Volunteer Corps in Seattle, Washington.

Erik is the son of Dennis and Leila Preston of Brandon. He is a 2005 graduate of Brandon High School. He graduated in 2009 from Concordia College, Moorhead, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in math and physics and a minor in music. He is also a 2011 graduate of The Northwest School of Wooden Boat Building in Port Hadlock, Washington.

Erik is a shipwright at Karpenske Marine Carpentry in Seattle, Washington.

An August 18, 2012 wedding is planned at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria, followed by a reception at the Lakeside Ballroom in Glenwood.
