Missing boys' mom: 'It was scariest five hours of my life'
“Again, thank you for all the community effort, support and prayers to find them. A million things run through your mind when your children are missing. I’m so thankful they are safe. “Give your family and friends extra hugs and kisses today, I know I am!”
Jessica Borden of Fargo, North Dakota, the mother of the missing boys, sent the newspaper this message regarding Tuesday’s successful search:
“Thank you to the Alexandria Police Department, Alexandria Fire Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County Posse, Osakis Police Department, LifeLink, our family, friends, and community members for the support, prayers, and love shown to find our boys.
“It was the scariest five hours of my life but the team effort to find them was amazing. I can’t say thank you enough. One of the local fire fighters wasn’t on duty but decided to take his boat out and look along the shoreline and found the boys on the dock. Praise the Lord for this man and thank you!
“The boys said they knew they were lost and found a shed they thought they could sleep in. My oldest said they prayed together that they would be found and he comforted his brother when he was crying. Bless their hearts and resourcefulness. They were pretty wet and muddy but surprisingly no wood tics or poison ivy.
“Again, thank you for all the community effort, support and prayers to find them. A million things run through your mind when your children are missing. I’m so thankful they are safe.
“Give your family and friends extra hugs and kisses today, I know I am!”
