Swift cooperation of local law enforcement in Alexandria brought two Fargo boys home safe.
The Alexandria Police Department received a missing persons’ call at 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. The boys, ages 5 and 10, were last seen in the Scenic Heights area around 2 p.m. They were visiting relatives in the area and became lost.
After following a lead that the boys may have been fishing or had built a fort, local law enforcement scoured wooded and swampy land by foot and scanned the area from a helicopter before finding the boys. A door-to-door search was conducted in the surrounding neighborhoods.
The Alexandria Police Department, Alexandria Fire Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, Douglas County Posse, Osakis Police Department, Life Link and community members searched for approximately three hours before locating the children near Lake L’Homme Dieu.
