Figure skating: Wood receives letter

Alexandria’s Allison Wood recently earned her varsity letter for participation with the Alexandria Figure Skating Club (AFSC).

To earn a letter, Wood had to be a member in good standing with the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA) and the AFSC. She was required to pass the USFSA Pre-Juvenile Freeskate test and attempt at least one official USFS Moves In The Field or Freeskate test above the Pre-Juvenile level.

Wood, the daughter of Kenneth and Kay Wood of Alexandria, has been skating with the AFSC for the last 14 years. She trained, competed and volunteered within the club for a minimum of 150 hours this past season.

Wood is at the Pre-Juvenile Freesktate and Juvenile Moves level. She is involved in teaching young student skaters in the AFSC and Tower View Skating Clubs.
