Card adapted bowling: Six seniors honored

The Alexandria adapted bowling team wrapped up another successful season by handing out its team awards recently.

Six seniors were recognized at the banquet at the Garden Center Lanes as Torii Erickson, Justin Hanson-Simmons, Gideon Hartsell, Kendra Holm, Scott Horman and Derreck Sorenson have rolled their last bowling ball with the Cardinals this past season.

Hartsell was one of eight athletes to take home plaques after finishing with the most turkeys (7) of anyone on the team. Stephen McCabe had the highest series (457) in the PI Division, while Horman earned the same award in the CI Division (469).

Sorenson took home the Most Improved Award. Erickson was the hardest worker and Hanson-Simmons earned the Coaches Award. Holm also earned a plaque for the most times in the 400 club among female athletes (5) and Zach Long earned the same award among males with seven 400 series.

The Alexandria adapted bowling team had 23 athletes on its roster this past season. The Cardinals once again did well at the state tournament, highlighted by two runner-up finishes from Ryan Frick in singles and Dane Bellefeuille and Sorenson in doubles.
