Clarence Sperling, 99, Farwell, passed from this life to life eternal on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Bethany Community Center.

He was born January 18, 1913 to Ove and Nora Sperling in Chicago, Illinois. He married Doris Steen on September 26, 1940 in Alexandria.

Clarence farmed the family farm near Farwell and also was employed by Douglas County as a ditch/weed inspector. He had several hobbies, but his favorites were hunting and fishing. He never missed a chance to fish! He also enjoyed traveling within the United States and abroad.

Clarence had a deep faith in God and lived his life accordingly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ove and Nora Sperling; his wife, Doris; his children, Joann Sperling, J. Roger Sperling and Calvin Sperling.

He is survived by his daughter, Beverly Sperling Cole and her husband, Adrian Cole of Edmond, OK, his five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 18 at Living Waters Church in Alexandria. The Rev. Dr. Adrian E. Cole officiated. Pallbearers were Paul Anderson, Vern Anderson, Philip Steen, Donald Steen, Doug Strand, Dennis Steen and Art Isaacson.
