ON STAGE
On Friday, June 15 at 7 p.m., the Theatre Off the Cuff comedy duo Dave Christman and Colin Hearn will present a performance of Sweet River Country at the Lakes Area Theatre.
The two men play eight male and female characters gathering at the funeral of Lurlene's 99-year-old dad. Chester Haller fell asleep at the dinner table, dropped head first into his chili, sucked two beans up his nose and suffocated. To add insult to injury, the federal instructions were mumbled, so instead of resting in a casket, he was cremated at Sweeney's Bakery.
The show asks questions that many wonder about. The answers provided by these actors will be wrapped in humor and imagination while smelling like sticky buns.
ON THE AIR
The summer solstice is celebrated around the world with bonfires, music and folklore. It marks the longest day and shortest night of the year. Sunday's show, June 17 on KXRA 1490 AM at 12:30 p.m. is an early celebration of the summer solstice, which occurs on June 20. Music is by Mikko Cowdery and Mary Pohl with Paulette Friday entertaining with her storytelling.
