Leroy Klein, 75

Leroy A. Klein, 75, of Fargo, ND, died Saturday, June 9, 2012 in Sanford Health in Fargo.

Leroy was born June 28, 1930 to Rudolph and Lilly (Huwe) Klein in Alexandria. He grew up on the family farm near Millerville and attended school in Brandon. In 1955, Leroy was drafted into the United States Army where he served for two years in Alaska before being honorably discharged in 1957.

He married Jackie Johnson on April 7, 1962 in Moorhead. They lived in Miltona, where Leroy owned and operated a small livestock hauling business before moving to Moorhead in 1967. He then drove truck for Gamble Robinson for several years and later drove for Ameriserve before retiring in 2000. Leroy enjoyed fishing, golfing and driving charter bus part-time for Richards Transportation until December 2011.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jackie Klein of Fargo, ND; sons, Terry (Joan) of Hawley and Gary (Celine) of Fargo; grandson, Brennan Klein and granddaughter, Katelyn Klein, both of San Diego, CA; brothers, Arland (Eileen) Klein of Parkers Prairie and Jerry (Judy) Klein of Brandon; sister, Ruth (Edward) Thoennes of Parkers Prairie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Lilly; sister, Lorraine (Harlan) Meissner; and niece, Norma Odens.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 15 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran church in Moorhead.

Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fargo.

Visitation is Thursday, June 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
