United Way Traveling Tree House: Volunteer with summer enrichment bus in communities throughout Douglas County for 10 weeks to share games/activities for children pre-kindergarten through 3rd grade. Call (320) 834-7800.
United Way Mobile Food Drop: Volunteers needed June 28 and/or July 26 to distribute food at New Life Christian Church - 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. or whenever food runs out. Call (320) 834-7800.
Cub Scouts: Adult and youth volunteers age 13 and older to help with Day Camp June 29-30 - 1 to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Call Jim Stratton, (320) 808-5096 or Dave Pedersen, 808-1056.
Girls Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin Lakes and Pines needs volunteers for the Summer Olympic Series for girls in grades 2-5. Volunteers may choose to participate in one or all six sessions. Each requires commitment of about three hours. Help with registration, greeting, safety, groups, flag ceremony, activities, set up, clean up, etc. Call (320) 235-2125.
District 206 Free Summer Meals Program: Volunteers age 14 and older needed to help serve meals, wash tables and assist with dishes. A criminal background check is mandatory. Love, INC: Volunteer services assistant needed 4-6 hours a week to coordinate volunteers; intake volunteers needed at Call Center from 9 a.m. to noon; receptionist needed 9 a.m. to noon. Training provided. Call (320) 759-3022.
Elder Network: Meet with older adults in their homes weekly to provide support or to allow a caregiver to take a short break by spending one to four hours a week providing companionship to a care receiver. Training required. (Call 320) 763-9084.
