High school state trap shoot coming to Alexandria this weekend
Fresh off a Conference 1A championship, the Jefferson High School clay target team will try to prove itself against the state’s best at the Alexandria Shooting Park this weekend.
Fresh off a Conference 1A championship, the Jefferson High School clay target team will try to prove itself against the state’s best at the Alexandria Shooting Park this weekend.
The local shooting park will host the 2012 Minnesota State High School Clay Target tournament on Saturday and Sunday. Varsity teams will shoot on Sunday, while the novice and junior varsity tournament will take place on Saturday.
Alexandria’s team consists of Cody Parkin, Tyler Floding, Brian Krebs, John Steen, Allison Lundsetter and Andrew Rentschler. Lundsetter and Rentschler serve as team captains.
The state tournament is expected to draw more than 915 student athletes. Varsity competition is scheduled to kick off at 9 a.m. on Sunday. Estimated completion times and field assignments were also scheduled to be posted on the league’s website before the start of the tournament.
