Caring Hands Dental Clinic expands to provide more service
Because of community support, the clinic has been able to provide dental care and education to thousands of underserved citizens of all ages. Last year, the clinic provided comfort to 389 citizens with dental emergencies and almost 2,000 regular dental appointments.
Caring Hands Dental Clinic recently hired two full-time staff dentists, two full-time hygienists and dental assistants and a complete office and management staff.
Because of community support, the clinic has been able to provide dental care and education to thousands of underserved citizens of all ages. Last year, the clinic provided comfort to 389 citizens with dental emergencies and almost 2,000 regular dental appointments.
With the new staff, the clinic services will multiply, allowing nearly 6,000 appointments a year. The clinic can resume the Head Start dental program for young kids and expand the school program, “Open Wide,” for schoolkids of all ages.
Continued financial support helps Caring Hands provide the community with the education and care to assure good overall health and low long-term health costs.
Caring Hands is a 501©(3) non-profit organization. It provides access to dental services and oral health education to the citizens of the Alexandria area that are on Medical Assistance or Minnesota Care through the Minnesota Health Care Programs. It was recently federally recognized as a National Health Service Corp site.
