Pioneer Memorial Park is located seven miles south of Brandon along County Road 7. It’s on the site of the former Country School District 5. The school was closed in 1956 when it consolidated with Brandon and the building was later moved to Runestone Museum’s Fort Alexandria.
The park was formed in 1949 when former students bought the land and formed a community club there. The club is still active and meets at the site.
Across the road is the 1954 memorial to the Finnish and Norwegian pioneers who helped settle the area and the Moe Heights Cemetery.
The park features a picnic shelter and log cabin, available for rent year round.
