Two time Cy Young Award winner to throw out first pitch at Knute Nelson tonight
Two-time Cy Young Award winner Bret Saberhagen will throw out the first pitch tonight at Knute Nelson Field when the Alexandria Beetles take on the Duluth Huskies in Northwoods League play.
Saberhagen, the father of Beetles head coach Drew Saberhagen, is a three-time MLB all star and a World Series champion. He was named the 1985 World Series MVP after leading the Kansas City Royals to a 4-3 series win over the St. Louis Cardinals in the fall classic. Saberhagen won both of his starts against the Cardinals, including the decisive game seven when he threw a complete-game shutout in an 11-0 win.
