Section 6A track and field updates: Thursday, May 31, 4:20 p.m.
Heather Strese, Ashby-Brandon-Evansville, and Brandi Otto, Minnewaska, finished first and second respectively in the shot put at the Section 6A track and field meet at Minnesota State University-Moorhead this morning to earn berths at the State Class A track and field meet June 8-9 at Hamline University.
Tobias Wach of A-B-E will advance to the state in the discus with a second place finish.
The Osakis girls' 4x200 relay will advance to state as the Section 6A champions.
Megan Friedrich of A-B-E was the runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles, moving on to state.
Kylee Fernholz, WCA, finished second in the 800-meter run to advance.
OTHER FINISHES:
Devon Horvath-Nelson, Osakis, sixth in the 1,600-meter run.
West Central Area girls' 4x800 relay was second.
Otto, Minnewaska, third in the discus.
Strese, A-B-E, fifth in the discus.
Annabelle Haarstad, WCA, sixth in the discus.
Warren Oberg, WCA, fourth in the high jump.
Halle Christianson, Minnewaska, 6th in the 400-meter dash
Abby VanKempen, WCA, third in 3,200-meter run
