Maloney named to honor society
Adam Maloney of Osakis, a senior at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota, was named to the Pi Gamma Mu social science fraternity.
Students recognized at UMC
The following students were recognized during the annual awards program at the University of Minnesota-Crookston:
Named as student ambassadors were Erica Nelson of Carlos, a junior double majoring in animal science and equine science; and Samantha Lahman of Parkers Prairie, a senior majoring in animal science.
Bryan Boutain of Alexandria, a senior marketing major, earned the outstanding academic achievement award in the business department.
Bob Guetter of Miltona, a sophomore natural resources major, received the John Polley Soil and Water Conservation award.
Anderson accepted to pre-college program
Winston Anderson, son of Matthew and Jill Anderson of Alexandria, was accepted to Brown University's pre-college summer program. Each summer, talented students from around the world are selected by Brown University's admissions committee to live on the Brown campus to advance their studies. The program exposes students to the intellectual concepts and processes of science topics taught at Brown University. Students will focus on the fields of biotechnology and medicine with intensive laboratory experience in the procedures and techniques utilized by doctors and research scientists.
