Funky Gumbo to perform at free Thursday night concert
Funky Gumbo will perform at the Red Willow Arts Coalition free concert on Thursday, May 31 at 7 p.m. on the lawn at the Douglas County Courthouse in Alexandria.
Funky Gumbo will perform at the Red Willow Arts Coalition free concert on Thursday, May 31 at 7 p.m. on the lawn at the Douglas County Courthouse in Alexandria.
The energetic and highly skilled five-piece group is comprised of drums, bass, guitar, sax, trumpet and vocals.
The group performs music by the greats such as Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Chuck Berry, Elvis, Wilson Pickett, The Meters, Chicago and B.B. King as well as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Glen Miller and more.
With such a varied repertoire, the group is able to create a mix of music tailored to any audience’s taste.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. In the event of inclement weather, listen to KXRA 1400 AM for cancellation information.
The Red Willow Arts Coalition is a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide the community with access to more musical experiences.
