Elroy Frank Wussow, 88, died Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Knute Nelson in Alexandria.
Elroy was born February 3, 1924 on the family farm in Leaf Valley Township, the son of Ewald and Olga (Froemming) Wussow. He was baptized and confirmed at Ebenezer Lutheran Church. Elroy attended District #23 Country School until the 8th grade and then farmed with his parents.
He met Lucille Bast, the love of his life, at a dance in Millerville. They were united in marriage on August 24, 1949 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Leaf Valley. To this union, 13 children were born. Elroy and his family farmed in Leaf Valley Township, where he raised dairy cows, livestock, cash crops, and custom farmed for his neighbors. In his spare time he liked to plow snow, serve on the Leaf Valley Fire Department, ice fish and play his harmonica. He also recorded music for local bands on cassettes.
Elroy was a hard working man who knew how to modify machinery to make it work. He liked to listen to the daily weather reports and old time music.
