Golf results: Osakis boys, girls are CMC champs, Knights seventh in HOL
Rockford and Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa tied for first in the final CMC meet of the season at Howard Lake Tuesday, with Osakis coming in third just two strokes behind. It was more than enough as the Silverstreaks held off Rockford by seven strokes to win the Central Minnesota Conference boys’ golf championship Tuesday, edging the Rockets 1,228 to 1,235 in total strokes for the season.
Silverstreak Paul Hartmann claimed the CMC season medalist title for the year, with Troy Asseln joining him on the All-Central Minnesota Conference team.
Osakis will open Section 5A-North golf action today, Wednesday, at the Minnewaska Golf Club in Glenwood

GIRLS WIN CMC
The Silverstreak girls finished their regular golf season with medalist honors and a team victory, winning by the Central Minnesota Conference meet Friday by 12 strokes over Maple Lake.
Peyton Garcia earned medalist honors as she carded an even-par 36 for the title.
The win gave Osakis the final team title in conference play by 35 strokes over Maple Lake.
Those finishes also gave Garcia, Savageau and Backes CMC All-conference honors.
GIRLS FIRST AT BBE
The Silverstreak girls claimed the CMC title at Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Monday, May 14 with a 180 as Annalise Savageau earned medalist honors.
Savageau posted a round of 40, and was closely followed by Peyton Garcia with 44. Emily Backes, Katelyn Foster and Ariel Chalmers all carded rounds of 48.

WEST CENTRAL AREA RESULTS
The West Central Area girls’ golf team shot a season low 205 last Thursday but still finished in seventh place at the Pelican Rapids Invite.
Morgan Grove shot a 49 to pace the Knights. Tiffany Boysen followed with a 50, while Marissa Hayward carded a 52 and Katie Larkin shot a 54.
“The girls had a great day,” head coach Kari Kreft said. “We were all very pleased with the consistent scores…It was a career best for many of our players and our season low team score. This was a real confidence builder as we go into the tournament season.”
