Track and field: Erickson shines for Kent State women's track and field team

The former Cardinal qualified for regionals

Former Cardinal state track and field champion Rosey Erickson is already making an impression at the Division I level for Kent State University.

Erickson won the long jump at the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships to qualify for the NCAA East Regional meet. Erickson accomplished the feat on May 14 with a leap of 19-11.75. That distance was a personal best and the third longest jump in Kent State history.

Erickson also was a part of the 4x100 relay team that finished fourth at the event. Their time of 45.88 was the third fastest in Kent State team history, as well.

Erickson’s strong freshman season got her recognized on the women’s track and field All-MAC first team. Erickson owns the school records in the 200 and 400-meter dashes, as well as the long jump and triple jump at Alexandria.
