2012 dairy princesses crowned

The crowning of the 2012 Douglas County Dairy Princesses was held on Sunday, April 29 in Alexandria.

The crowning of the 2012 Douglas County Dairy Princesses was held on Sunday, April 29 in Alexandria. The competition is sponsored by the dairy promotion checkoff, which helps build demand for dairy products.

The 2012 princesses include Samantha Massmann, daughter of Robert and Roxann Massmann of Osakis, a junior at the University of Minnesota, Morris; Meg Hintzen, daughter of Leonard and Jody Hintzen of Alexandria, a junior at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities; and Heidi Krueger, daughter of Willis and Mary Krueger of Alexandria, a senior at Jefferson High School in Alexandria, who is planning to attend Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall this fall.

During their reign, the princesses will represent the dairy industry in the promotion of dairy products at parades and at area grocery stores and banks.
