Letter - God's plan for marriage hasn't changed

There is a difference of opinion of what can be called a marriage. Who started marriage? God did. He created one man and one woman and blessed their union and His plan has not changed.

To the editor:

There is a difference of opinion of what can be called a marriage.

Who started marriage? God did. He created one man and one woman and blessed their union and His plan has not changed.

Their relationship changed when Eve and then Adam ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. God told them they would die the day they ate of it. Satan, speaking through the serpent, made Eve doubt what God had said and told her they would be like God, knowing good and evil. They sinned by disobeying God. They did not die physically at that time, but died spiritually. They lost their relationship with God. The whole human race is in the same condition – separated from God – lost in sin.

God loved us too much to leave us that way and promised to send a savior. That happened when He sent His own son to live as a man and die for our sin. Jesus is the way back to a relationship with God; the only way.

Dan Morrow called the traditional marriage idea antiquated. We have laws in Minnesota based on God’s law. Man’s laws can change and have been in many states. God’s laws are the same since the beginning of time.

We each make choices, like Adam and Eve. We choose to listen to and obey God, or listen to the lies of Satan. The choice means your destiny for eternity.
