Dozens of kids took part in the Alexandria Bike Safety Rodeo on Saturday as they zipped through cones to prove their newly learned bike safety knowledge.
The annual event was held at the tactical warehouse at Alexandria Technical and Community College (ATCC).
Officers from the Alexandria Police Department (APD) taught the riders how to signal their turns and stops and ride safely. The Bike and Fitness Company provided five-point safety checks of the children’s bikes and participants and their parents enjoyed a free lunch from Subway and Culvers. During the event, a bike and helmets were given as prizes.
ATCC, APD, Noon Kiwanis Club of Alexandria and Bike and Fitness Company sponsored the bike rodeo.
