Love INC garage sale planned

A charity garage sale will be held Saturday, May 19 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Runestone Community Center (RCC) main rink in Alexandria.

The event will raise funds for Love INC of Douglas County and Mercy Orphanages. Supplemental funds will be provided by Thrivent Financial.

Donations of items in good condition may be dropped off at the RCC (follow signs) on Thursday, May 17 from 1 to 7 p.m. and Friday, May 18 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. All donations are tax deductible. Receipts will be available when items are dropped off.

Acceptable items include clothing, lawn and garden tools and equipment, sporting goods, household items, furniture (no upholstered items unless new), cameras, tools, antiques, coins, collectibles, arts and crafts items, books, toys, games, baby items (no car seats or toilet training chairs), new building supplies, plumbing and electrical materials.

Non-accepted items include shoes, purses, soiled or torn clothing, TVs, computer systems, upholstered furniture, exercise equipment or stoves.

Volunteers are needed to sort donations, cashier, assist donors and shoppers, and pack up after the event. Call the Love INC office at (320) 759-3022 to volunteer.
