Dining Around Douglas event rescheduled

The 5th Annual Dining Around Douglas event has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 20 at the Holiday Inn in Alexandria from 5 to 8 p.m.

Proceeds from the event support the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, a scholarship fund that provides membership and program subsidy for kids and families that may not otherwise be able to afford a Y experience.

Area restaurants provide a sample of their signature dishes for some of the finest food you'll encounter in Douglas County. The Y will auction off gift certificates, weekend getaways, season tickets and more.

Tickets to the event are $35 each, or $280 per table of eight. Tickets can be purchased at the Y.

Last year, Dining Around Douglas raised more than $12,000 for the scholarship fund.
