Karrow Jewelers recently presented “Dog Tales” winner, DeAnn Runge, with a sterling silver Rembrandt Charms charm bracelet.

“We are so thrilled to have our store chosen by a winner,” said Jeff Karrow, owner of Karrow Jewelers.

Runge lives in Alexandria and has been a customer of Karrow’s for many years.

The contest consisted of submitting a story using Rembrandt charm numbers.

Here is Runge’s story:

“People might consider a horseshoe a lucky charm; however I consider my service dog, always by my side, as mine. He came into my life with large paws to fill as my first service dog passed away unexpectedly. With an open heart (#3391) I traveled from Minnesota (#3611) to Ohio (#3136) where I was partnered with another wonderful dog (#2404) named Elroy. Once again he has given me a happy face (#2354). Not only can he pick up something as small as a thimble, he can even bring me a blanket. After I wrap up in my quilt (#2340) as an added bonus he rests his chin on my feet to keep them toasty warm. Quickly the cat and dog (#1566) have become best friends, and my family is complete.”

Rembrandt Charms sponsors “Dog Tales,” a monthly contest that invites consumers to tell their most charming dog tale through charms. Each month, Rembrandt selects a winner and runner-ups. The winner receives a free sterling bracelet and all seven charms; runner-ups receive a sterling silver bracelet and one charm from their story.

Runge’s charm is a paw print with the engravement, “Elroy.”

Karrow Jewelers is located at 628 Broadway and at Viking Plaza Mall.
