WCA AT BRECKENRIDGE

Tiffany Boysen shot a 57 to finish 17th at the Heart O’ Lakes Conference girls’ golf meet at Breckenridge Monday as the West Central Area team finished sixth overall.

“The girls put out a good effort,” said head coach Kari Kreft. “We have a tendency to score a little higher at Breckenridge and that was the case today. The water cost most of us some penalty points.

“Tiffany went in the water twice on two different holes, but felt very good about her fairway shots. She had an amazing 3-wood shot.”

Marissa Hayward finished the day with a 60, Katie Larkin 64, Morgan Grove 61, McKenzie Hunter 68 and Mariah Hennen 79.

“McKenzie felt her chipping was strong and the putting was really coming on at the end,” said Kreft. “Mariah made her varsity debut.

“We did not golf as well as we had hoped score-wise, but the mental part of the game was strong today. Attitudes were positive and the girls never gave up.”
