Track and field: Osakis competes at rain-shortened BBE meet

A weather-shortened meet at Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa and a cancellation of Friday’s meet at St. John’s left the Silverstreak track and field team with a slow schedule last week.

Beth Kirckof and Brittney Sadlemyer both had improvements in the discus at BBE as their team finished second overall.

Kirckof finished seventh with a toss of 79’3.5”, while Sadlemyer threw 78’10” to finish eighth.

The Silverstreaks picked up an individual first place finish in the 100-meter dash as Becka Sadlemyer ran a 12.4.

The Silverstreak girls also won the 4x200 as Taylor Kraemer, Abby Stroup, Alli Scherr and Hannah Szech ran a 1:52.0, and the 4x800 relay of Calista Sadlemyer, Makayla Hoglin, Abby Stroup and Brittney Sadlemyer ran a 10:37.0.

The boys’ team finished seventh at BBE, with Garret Sunder leading his squad with a sixth place in the shot as he had a toss of 38’.

The 4x200 relay team of Brian Thorstad, Chris Rud, Hunter Johnson and Seth Newman finished fifth in 1:42.1.
