Shalom garage sale

Thursday - Saturday, May 3-5: The Shalom Lutheran Church youth will host a garage sale fundraiser Thursday, May 3 from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, May 4 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, May 5 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. All proceeds will benefit a mission trip to the Quad Cities area in July to work with the YouthWorks program at food pantries, kids’ programs and homeless shelters.

Soup and salad supper

Tuesday, May 8: Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 12th and Lake Street in Alexandria, will host a soup and salad supper form 4:30 to 7 p.m. Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for ages 5 to 12.

Garage/bake sale

Friday and Saturday, May 11 and 12: Millerville Christian Women to hold garage/bake sale at the Millerville Parish Hall from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

FCA fundraising runs

Friday and Saturday, May 11 and 12: Lake Community Church and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes are hosting the annual Lakes Area Endurance Half Marathon, 5k and Family Fun Run. The Family Fun Run and 5k race followed by a baked potato meal will be held May 11 at Lake Community Church. The half marathon will be at the YMCA on May 12. Free breakfast

Saturday, May 12: Alexandria United Methodist Church is offering a free sausage/pancake breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church, 2210 6th Avenue East in Alexandria. For information, call (320) 763-4624.

Pancake fundraiser

Saturday and Sunday, May 12-13: New Life Christian Church, 1910 Highway 27 East in Alexandria, will host the second annual Pancake Fundraiser for Missions from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. All-you-can-eat pancakes and sausages will be served. Donations accepted.
