Central Lakes Symphony Orchestra to perform final concert of the season

The Central Lakes Symphony Orchestra (CLSO) will perform its final concert of the 2011-2012 season on Saturday, May 19 at 2 p.m. at Carlos Creek Winery.

The Central Lakes Symphony Orchestra (CLSO) will perform its final concert of the 2011-2012 season on Saturday, May 19 at 2 p.m. at Carlos Creek Winery.

The concert will be held inside the Grande Stables. Beverages will be available for sale during the concert and during intermission.

The 50-member orchestra is under the direction of Brad Lambrecht. Musicians come from Alexandria, Carlos, Farwell, Fergus Falls, Garfield, Glenwood, Holmes City, Kensington, Miltona, Morris, Nelson, Osakis, Villard and Vining.

The group will perform the following:

• L’Arlesienne by Georges Bitzet, featuring Brad Hanson on saxophone, Ruth Aaseng on flute and Joelle Burreson on oboe;

• Rhapsodie by Claude Debussy, featuring Kristina Peabody on clarinet;

• Appalachian Spring by Aaron Copland.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and are available at Cherry Street Books, Carlson Music and the Community Education office, all in Alexandria and at the door.
