Approximately 700 graduates from Alexandria Technical and Community College (ATCC) will be acknowledged at the 51st annual commencement program on Wednesday, May 9 at 6:30 p.m.
Commencement will be held in the Jefferson High School gymnasium at 1401 Jefferson Street, Alexandria. During the ceremony, outstanding students from each program will be presented with merit awards.
This year, Adam Klinkner will deliver the address. Klinkner is the son of Brad and Michelle Klinkner of Garfield. He will graduate with associate in applied science degrees in machine tool technology and mechanical drafting, design and engineering technology.
During his time at ATCC, he has been involved in many activities including serving as the student senate president and as both a local SkillsUSA officer and president of Minnesota SkillsUSA.
Klinker is also active in the community and helps coach elementary wrestling.
After graduation, he plans to move to St. Francis to work for Special Tools Inc. to begin a career in tool grinding.
The Honorable Jacob Englund will represent the board of trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system and assist with the presentation of degrees.
Family and friends of graduates are invited to attend the ceremony. Doors will open at 5 p.m. for seating.
