Letter - Congress of belligerent mugwumps
Maybe as concerned citizens we had better get our wits together and think twice before we decide to go down that road. It is perilous indeed, but the animosity that exists within the two party system now does not bode well for our future!
To the editor:
As the Republican party continues to harden into disparate factions much like the Muslim electorate, the Kurds, the Sunnis and the Shiites, it may well be that after this fall’s election we will be experiencing instead of Democrats and Republicans, an array of splinter parties such as: The Tea Party, the Libertarian Party, the Green Party, the Catholic Party, the Labor Party, the Christian Liberal Party, the Protestant Fundamentalist Party, the Socialist Party, the Anarchist Party, the GLBT Party, etc, a proliferation of factions that could really end up with a Congress of belligerent mugwumps that could do our country in, ending any hope for consensus or compromise to ensure a stable democratic government anytime in the future!
